Pinterest Inspired Room

One look at this inspiration photo and we were obsessed. This room has all of the functionality of an office (comfortable chair, plenty of desk space, storage) without sacrificing an ounce of chic flair.

It also immediately made us think of the bright yellow desk chair we have on our floor right now. Okay, so ours is a little simpler - but it gets the job done and it's under $100 (which, if I had to guess, is a far better price than the one in the inspiration photo...). Plus, the bright color excites us just looking at it!

Yellow Office Chair (#31972) - $98.99

Call (708) 386-3366 to purchase.

And so, a mission to recreate commenced!

We quickly realized we had an adorable all-white dining table that would be perfect for our room. Alright, technically it's not a desk...but really? We think it would work much better our way - it's a tiiinnny table.

West Elm Parsons Table (#31940) - $126.49

Call (708) 386-3366 to purchase.

The next item we noticed in the photo was the teal bench/ottoman. While we don't have a perfect match in our current inventory, we thought this gold and animal-print bench would work well with the color palette that's going on (and I think I actually like it better!)

Bench (Mini Mart Item #10590) - $599

Call (708) 386-3366 to purchase.

Every office needs a place to store files or - let's be honest - shove a giant mess of papers away so you don't have to look at it for the time being. We have a few options that are similar to the one in the inspiration photo.

We loooove this display hutch from our designer Mini Mart...

2-Piece Painted Bookcase (Mini Mart Item) - $675.19

Call (708) 386-3366 to purchase.

...but this country-style dresser could also work really well, especially if you replaced the pulls with something crystal-like or metallic and added a statement mirror on top of it.

Chest of Drawers (#31967) - $160.59

Call (708) 386-3366 to purchase.

White Mirror (Mini Mart Item #10539) - $599

Call (708) 386-3366 to purchase.

That gives us an idea! Why not use an entire mirrored piece as your behind-the-desk storage? Even if you stopped here, the office would still scream CHIC!

Mirror Chest (Mini Mart Item #12811) - $899

Call (708) 386-3366 to purchase.

Alright, so we've got all the big pieces covered. Now it's time to accessorize! In keeping with the gold/white/teal scheme, we picked out a few items from our accessories shelves that we think would accent the room perfectly. They could be used to store pens, sticky-notes, business cards, flowers, etc.

Decor items pictured range from $7-$12

Please visit our Oak Park, IL showroom at 809 S. Oak Park Ave to purchase.

As for lighting, we had quite a few options around the store as well (p.s...the first two lamps have elephant designs on their bases - love it!).

Elephant Lamp 1 (Mini Mart Item #10420) - $44

Call (708) 386-3366 to purchase.

Elephant Lamps 2/3 (#31463) - $28.59 ea.

Call (708) 386-3366 to purchase.

Table Lamp (Mini Mart Item #10814) - $187.50

Call (708) 386-3366 to purchase.

Pineapple Lamp (#31729) - $25.29

Call (708) 386-3366 to purchase.

Calla Lily Floor Lamp (#31996) - $120.99

Call (708) 386-3366 to purchase.

And to finish it all off......can you guess?

Yep - SURYA (at a fraction of the price, might I add)! You could keep the rug simple and understated like the one in the original photo...

Merchandise Mart Madness this Memorial Day

We have been busy over at the Mart again - and this time, the most awesome outdoor furniture was on the agenda.

Lucky for us, we found lots of amazing design showrooms ready to get rid of their last season/ discontinued/floor sample inventory. Which means - Lucky for you - we are bringing it straight over to Divine Consign, slashing a few zeros off of those price tags, and throwing a massive Memorial Day Weekend Tent Event!

Over 300 high-end outdoor furniture items worth half-a-million dollars will be on sale at our tent event, with markdowns of 50-90% off Mart prices. The event will take place in the parking lot outside of our showroom (809 S. Oak Park Ave, Oak Park) from this Friday, May 24 through Memorial Day, Monday, May 27. Hours are F 11-7, Sat 11-6, Sun 12-5, M 11-6.

We offer a reasonably priced delivery service and accept all credit cards. Oh, and there will be a raffle. What did you say you were doing this weekend, again?

Set a reminder right now for Friday at 10:59 a.m.! You'll want to get first dibs on these amaaaazing outdoor furnishings before...say...your next-door neighbor does (and you're stuck drooling on the other side of the fence).

See you in the tent!

Our 2nd Pinterest Inspired Room

When we came across this photo on Pinterest, we were immediately reminded of the upholstered, nail head trim ottoman from our recent Warehouse Event (pictured below, right).

Large Round Ottoman by Kenneth Ludwig (at Divine Consign) - Item # 10538 $999.99Call 708.386.3366 for info/to purchase

Using the ottoman as a starting point, it was a piece of cake coming up with some awesome ways to recreate the look of this breezy, relaxing bedroom with items currently in our store! Our second step was to search the Surya website to find a perfect rug (remember: Divine Consign is a distributor for Surya and we can order ANY rug you see on their website for under retail value!)

Here were our faves:

1. Portera   2. Sculpture   3. Sculpture   4. Aurora
Call 708.386.3366 for pricing or to place an order

Next, we started browsing through our furniture for similar items - and there are LOTS! We decided beds like these would work well:

Iron King Size Bed Frame - $246.39 (Item #9406)Call 708.386.3366 for info/to purchase

4 Poster Silver Queen Size Bed Frame - $233.19 (Item #9985)

Call 708.386.3366 for info/to purchase

...As would these chairs (We happen to have 2 identical in stock, both NEW from our Horchow shipment!)

Ramona Chair by Horchow - $439.99 (Item #10874)
Call 708.386.3366 for info/to purchase

...And an interesting, functional nightstand/side table (pretty detailing + storage = heck yes!)

French Style Marble Top Side Table - $133.09 (Item #11819)
Call 708.386.3366 for info/to purchase

To put the finishing touches on the room and bring everything together, we'd finish it off with a table lamp and some hanging wall art, such as these:

Crystal Knobs Lamp - $65.99 (Item #11810) & 3 Stone Sphere Lamp - $49.49 (Item #9023)

Framed Wall Art - Prices on items pictured range from $3-$35
Please visit our showroom at 809 S. Oak Park Ave, Oak Park, IL to purchase

Viola! The room is done. We hope this inspires you to recreate rooms from your own favorite "Pins"...whether it be from items in your own home or from your favorite consignment store! (hey..just sayin')
