Pinterest Inspired Living Room

When we spotted this living room by HGTV, we loved all the bright colors, accessories, and the fact that it actually looks lived in. Plus, the two side tables serving as a coffee table in the middle of the room reminded us of some pieces we recently added to our selection at Divine Consign!

Black/Gator Top Side Tables - $98.99 ea (#34270)

So....a Pinterest room re-creation idea was born!

Alright, let's take a step backwards and start with a rug. That blue hippy-ish/traditional rug in the inspiration photo is super awesome. Here are our favorite look-a-likes from the Surya catalog (any of which we can order for a special price - contact us for details).

Ethan Allen Sofa - $725 (#34238)
We have a really similar Ethan Allen sofa in our showroom right now (sans the black piping - oh well).
It's simple, compact, and comfy. We were sold! :)

We have several "fall-colored" accent pillows in our store right now, but we were craving something brighter, like in the photo!
Did you know that we custom make pillows? Stop by our design center and browse through the array of gorgeous, quality fabric samples we have on hand. There are so many great ones!
Pillow crisis averted.

We love the blue willow print vase decorating the lower shelf of the left side/coffee table in our inspiration photo. Luckily, we have some very similar ones!
L (top/bottom) - $9-$13     R - $43.99

Next. we'd add some black, red, and/or gold end tables like the ones below.
Top: Mod Black - $109 (#34411); Horchow chest - $379 (#32430);
Bottom: Vintage gold - $70.49 (#32189); Red - $76 (#34278); Gold pedestal - $104 (#32976)
And finally, we'd accessorize! Picking wall art and mirrors in varied styles, colors, and shapes makes for a fun eclectic look. A gold umbrella stand and a small table-top wine rack add functionality as well as style.

Artwork: ~ $9-$25 ea.

Umbrella Stand - $30                            Wine Rack - $9

Red: $49                                  Black: $87
How'd we do?! Do you think the pieces we picked would all work together?

A Story of Stickley

Once upon a time, around the turn of the 20th century, five brothers set out to create a line of honest, simple, and beautiful furniture made "Als Ik Kan" or "to the best of my ability."Image: spacer

From the Stickley website:
"The Stickleys used solid construction, what-you-see-is-what-you-get joinery, and the highest quality woods. But even more, they showed a genius for design, creating hundreds of new forms that were at once beautiful to look upon, practical to use, exceedingly strong and long-lasting, and perfect for the new ways American families wanted to live.

"Stickley furniture was not for shutting up in formal parlors—it was to be used and loved by young and old. Great emphasis was placed on letting the gorgeous, organic forms of quartersawn oak and other woods speak for themselves. Finishes were not thick gums, but clear dyes that allowed natural grain to sparkle."
Needless to say, when a consignor brought us this STUNNING 1990's Stickley mantel clock, we were blown away - it looks brand-stinkin'-new! These one-of-a-kind, collectible items are valued at up to $4,000, so our price tag of $989 will be hard to beat. You'll have this item in your family for generations to come.

P.S. Here's something special for the parents out there!
This Haba brand children's oak loft bed comes complete with a play fort hide away underneath - great for stashing toys, or add a bean bag chair for a quiet reading nook. The possibilities are endless, and FUN and practicality are guaranteed! Call us to purchase this piece for $429.99. (708) 386-3366 (Item # 34361)

Awesome furniture & deals galore - from both ends of the budget spectrum!

One of our main goals has always been to provide everyone with high-quality, great condition, yet AFFORDABLE furniture. We try to always have a selection of great, well-made items that still have tons of life left and that we can provide to you at an unbeatable price. After all, great home decor should be available to everyone, no matter your budget!

These gorgeous items came to us earlier this week from design showroom Peabody's Interiors. This Wisconsin showroom has some truly amazing high-end items, but prices can (and do) get well into the thousands...
Yikes.
Never fear! Since we know you savvy shoppers are looking for a deal (and this furniture was WAY too awesome to turn down), we worked our Divine Consign Magic and slashed the prices on this furniture shipment to about 10-20% of original retail value. Much better!

Now for those of you true-to-form bargain hunters looking for the best deals on this side of the Mississippi, we've got those too!

On Secret Sale today is this awesomely unique dining table. The super modern round hammered metal and black marbled base would add an instant "wow factor" to your eat-in kitchen or dining room. Complete the room with clean lines, black and white decor, maybe some rustic wooden pieces or bright pops of neon, and your dining area is done for CHEAP!
Seriously for $52.99, where could you find a more high-end looking piece?
