We Have Gift Certificates!

We all have them ... hard to shop for family & friends. They mean well when they say "Oh, just get me whatever you want" or "I am running low on socks." But you want to gift them with something that will be both practical and enjoyable.
Divine Consign can help! We have gift certificates available to be used in both of our locations (111 N. Oak Park Ave and 810 North Boulevard) for furniture, accessories and collectibles. Gift certificates can be created in any denomination and, for your convenience, they can be purchased over the phone and mailed directly to you or your giftee!
And we are also offering the ability to purchase those gift certificates online as well, through PayPal. There's no need to have a PayPal account - you can pay using any of your debit or credit cards. Click on the button below, choose the amount, choose to email to your intended gift recipient or print after having paid and deliver yourself. The PayPal Gift Certificate can be used online at our online store or in our physical locations. How easy is that?

Customers' Rave Reviews!

We just love our customers and consignors, and we also love hearing their great reviews! Here's what a few of them had to say...
_______________________________
"Amazing selection of high quality furniture at prices you cannot say no to. The staff are all friendly and take an interest in what you are looking for and try to help you find it. I was wavering on a piece and they put it on hold for me. . . . then I wanted something else and they just moved the hold tag. . . . then I bought it. . . . most places won't let you hold anything much less play musical chairs with a hold tag for two days!

I will be back again and again, since it seems the inventory changes daily, and I won't want to miss out on anything!" Joe C., Oak Park

"If your tastes run to the classic, there are antique-y antiques with an impressive pedigree. If you are a modern sort, there's stuff for you too. And there are lots of paintings, accessories, and objets d'art to round out the look. The prices are pretty reasonable ... and the store is full without seeming too cluttered.

Everything at the store is consigned (duh!) from individuals or furniture stores, and the prices are reduced the longer it sits on the sales floor. You can add your name to a "wish list" so if you have something particular in mind, the store will notify you if it appears.

I don't know if they coined the phrase "eco-chic," but there is definitely something "green" about the concept of re-using what is here rather than having China make us new stuff all the time. So if you have the heebies about buying a couch someone else sat on, just get over it. And bring plenty of quarters for the parking meter."
Lisa B., Oak Park

"I have consigned several pieces of of furniture, and DIVINE CONSIGN , an amazing & GORGEOUS store SOLD all of my pices in less than 3 weeks. This 'consignment' store is not your average consignment shop-- it looks and feels very upscale, and is put together extremely well.

The owner and sales staff are outgoing and a pleasure to work with. I would recommend this store to anyone who is either looking to sell good qualtiy furniture and decorator items or is looking for that special piece for their home. A visit to this store is a must!"
Patricia M.S., Chicago

"OMG! You have got to see this store! I read about in Chicago Home and Garden Magazine and my wife and I had to make the trip.First, it was hard to get in the door because people were taking so many pieces of furniture out of the door. The first piece I looked at was a solid cherry Arts and Crafts style-how Oak Park- dining table for $199! Are you kidding me? The store was clean bright well-staffed and fun. I continued my journey toward the back of the store and was amazed at the variety of syles. They had a huge Habersham custom armoire, Stickley furniture and then a retro zebra striped contemporary love seat. There was so much to see that by the time I made it back to my solid cherry table, it was already sold! My advice, grab what you like right away or it will be gone!

The store allows you to returns your furniture purchase if it doesn't work for you! Have you ever heard a consignment store do that before?

The prices were amazing (hope they can stay in business selling at those prices) and this was before any prices were marked down. They reduce the price by 20% every three weeks (doubtful anything will be in the store that long). This was not like any consignment store I had ever been in.

I couldn't leave empty handed. I bought a great side chair and my wife bought a set of crystal candlesticks. Top quality. If you haven't been there you have to go and go often. I've veen there three times and it was completely different each time. Yeah the parking does suck. But there is a parking garage across the street and the store is next to some great restaurants. So relax and have lunch."
James P., Oak Park

Repurposing Entertainment Armoires

Here at Divine Consign we are all about renewing the life of furniture! Not only is purchasing consignment furniture eco-friendly, there are endless opportunitites to repurpose the furniture itself!

Let's talk about those wonderful entertainment armoires that were so popular awhile back. They served a great purpose - housing large televisions and all the components while providing storage for tapes, DVDs, remotes, etc.

Now in the age of flat-screen TVs, fewer components and less storage due to digital recordings, it seems those armoires have met their demise.

Wait! There is a way to salvage these beautiful pieces of furniture while maintaining a practical purpose. Entertainment armoires can be perfectly used as clothing armoires! There are already drawers and shelves for shoes, undergarments, etc. In the large open TV space, shelves can be added for storing sweaters, or simply install a rod for hanging clothes!

Come see the gorgeous armoires at Divine Consign and consider how they can be repurposed for your needs!

A New Home for Your Old Furniture

We all have emotional attachments to our things. Some of us have fond memories connected to a particular outfit, while others reminisce over a family heirloom.

And then there are the pieces of furniture and home accessories that we could part with, but just want to make sure they find a good home. Rather than simply giving these special pieces away, or listing them online and potentially dealing with scam artists, let us help find a new home for your favorite things!

Divine Consign will not only expertly display and sell your furniture, but will also split the sale 50/50 with you! You will have the piece of mind that your first dining room set will find a happy home with a new family. Your sectional sofa that doesn't fit into your new condo will certainly be of use to that family of six!

A Day in the Life of Furniture Consignment

It's Tuesday, and we're preparing for one of our busiest days of the week. You see, Wednesdays and Sundays are our big delivery days - furniture is moving both in and out of the store. We have an amazing delivery service that will bring your heavy, awkward furniture to your home for a $50 flat rate* as well as picking up the items you want to consign. How great is that?!

Which leaves the rest of our week open for moving items in place, arranging new accessories, and making room for the next delivery day. When we say the store is different every day, we mean it! We always encourage our customers to stop in often as that perfect item could find its way in any day.

So if you happen to stop on in and see our talented staff a bit out of breath and there is a random end table in the aisle, you know it is probably delivery day!

*$50 flat rate is for Oak Park/River Forest. Other locations will result in a higher rate.

About the Owner - Kellie Scott

Kellie Scott is making it happen in Oak Park! Divine Consign has filled a void in the area. Residents are could not be happier to have a place to consign their unwanted or unneeded furniture and decor and also to purchase quality pieces at a fantastic prices.

As a graduate of DePaul University College of Law, Kellie Scott spent most of her career as an attorney. For 16 years, Kellie was a partner in the Chicago law firm Scott Halsted & Babetch. Although she was a successful insurance defense litigation attorney, she had a passion for design. Upon opening up her design firm, K Scott Design, Scott designed in the city and Oak Park with two projects showcased on HGTV! Her very last design project was a $2M dollar rehab of the William Stennet Home in Oak Park (201 Linden Avenue) which won a Historic Preservation Award.

After six years of design work, Scott decided that great design shouldn't be restricted to just the wealthy - and thus, Design Consign was born! Divine Consign offers an eclectic fix of furniture and furnishings consigned from all different sources, including Interior Designers and furniture stores. During this eco-conscious time, consignment is the best way to "recycle" while still getting the best deal for the highest quality pieces. Resale! There is no better way to go green!
